𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 | The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) successfully conducted the pilot run of its Orientation for Newly Arrived Diplomats as part of its collaboration with foreign counterpart diplomatic academies with which it has existing Memoranda of Understanding.Newly arrived diplomats from the Embassies of Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, People’s Republic of China, India, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, and Romania joined the Orientation and actively engaged in the discussion of Philippine politics, economy, and culture.The Foreign Service Institute is the training and research office of the Department of Foreign Affairs. 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 | The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) and the University of the Philippines Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP-CIDS) Strategic Studies Program co-hosted a roundtable discussion titled “𝘜𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘦𝘢: 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘚𝘦𝘢” on 16 July 2024 at the Asian Center in UP Diliman.The event assessed the current policies and practices on environmental protection in the South China Sea (SCS). Romulo Library. The Lao PDR Ambassador to the Philippines, Ambassador Sonexay Vannaxay, was the featured speaker.The Ambassador expressed Lao PDR’s commitment to promote ASEAN centrality and to forge stronger cooperation among its members and its external partners as concrete outcome of its ASEAN Chairmanship.The Ambassadors’ Lecture Series (ALS) is a platform provided to the heads of diplomatic missions in the Philippines to share their knowledge, expertise, and advocacies.
